The Writing Wellness Workshops explore the role of language and image in disease and healing, both personal and in community.
Raise the bar on personal wellness while adding creative tools
to use in your work as writer, healer and health professional,
counselor, teacher, parent,administrator, care giver,
peer group leader, facilitator with at-risk persons.
A series of 4 sessions, each in a environment specific space.
Sessions may be presented as a series or individually.
An award winning writer, filmmaker and actress, S. Pearl Sharp merges creative arts, history and healing in a body of work that includes the book Black Women for Beginners, the poetry w/jazz CD Higher Ground, fiction and non-fiction, the films The Healing Passage/Voices From The Water (currently broadcasting on The Documentary Channel), It’s O.K. To Peek: GYN Self-Exam and Picking Tribes.. Her commentaries and essays have been heard broadcast on NPR. Having experienced a chronic disease, S. Pearl is an advocate of body/mind/spirit health and wellness, with a creative touch.
